Geez, is he trying to mask the smell of dead hooker in the trunk?
I don’t really like vent fresheners, too strong. I do throw a bounce fabric softener sheet under the seat about once a year. Who doesn’t like the smell of fresh linen?

Given where I was driving through and the 2nd gen eclipse on it’s last leg... They’re probably to cover up weed smell.
The fabric softener sheet under the seats is a good one though. I’ll have to remember that.

I use Yankee Candle air vent air fresheners with vanilla scent.
((not my car))
They are small enough to not draw your attention, light enough to not damage the air vent flaps, last a long time, contains no liquids that can do a lot of damage to dashboard and centre console plastics.
The liquid or even impregnated cardboard scents can seriously damage the plastic used on many car parts even the plastic parts that don’t get damage can sustain surface damage as many cars such as BMWs have a coloured film than covers the plastic part itself. Such as the image immediately below.
California Scents if not properly secured will destroy a Range Rovers centre console.

Yeah, it’s not overpowering and only costs like 5 cents.

I like the smell of actual fresh linen, but the artificial fabric softener smell, which bears no resemblance, makes me gag. That said, it’s still a lot better than those overpowering vent freshener things.

The scent of my 4Runner is “wet dog.” The scent of my C63 is “perfume of whoever last sat in the passenger seat.” My feeling about air fresheners is “nausea.”

I leave a bounce sheet in my helmet between autocrosses. Does a great job of preventing a stinky helmet.

If you need to scent your car due to smell, it’s time to Svend the interior.

I occasionally throw one of those little tins of cherry air freshener under the seat in the summer to help mask the scent of Old 90s Wagon.

My IS still smells good from when I got it detailed four months ago... Turns out if you never eat in your car, it can smell good for a long time!
